Diet and Nutrition for Stomach, Intestinal, and Liver Diseases
Our service offers specialized guidance for nutritional issues.
Our department offers specialized nutrition consultations, which are conducted by our physicians in close collaboration with our dietitians and our nutrition nurse. When necessary, we also work closely with our psychologists and social services.
You can visit these clinics for:
- Unintentional weight loss or malnutrition: This may be due to a known condition, or a diagnosis may not yet have been made.
- Food intolerances or allergies.
- Difficulty eating, e.g., due to swallowing problems or problems with food passing through the esophagus.
- Pre- and post-operative care for medical procedures involving the stomach or intestines.
- Monitoring of feeding tubes, tube feeding, or TPN ("parenteral nutrition").
During a nutrition consultation, your dietary issues will be thoroughly analyzed; if necessary, additional tests will be scheduled, and we will work to find a solution that can help you move forward.
You can schedule an appointment for this consultation through the office, preferably with a referral from your primary care physician.
